The Midwinter Mortimer Trail 27th December 2025, two distances – the full 30 mile ultra from Ludlow Castle to Kington, or the 1- mile half starting from the Riverside Inn at Aymestrey. Walk or run, dog-friendly, three great aid stations filled with festive treats.
The Midwinter Mortimer Trail, the sister event to the Midsummer Mortimer Trail consists of two distances of mixed trail/forest/road runs along the beautiful Mortimer Trail, between the historic market towns of Ludlow, Shropshire and Kington, Herefordshire.
Starting at Ludlow Castle, the MMT(W) Ultra is a mere 30ish mile multi terrain run. The route takes you through the Marches of England, with extensive forests, limestone tops and gentle pastures in an area dominated in mediaeval times by the Mortimer family, one of the most powerful Norman earldoms.
The MMT(W) Croft15 follows the last half of the Ultra route, starting at the lovely Riverside Inn, Aymestrey.
