Ludlow Food Festival 2026 returns with an expanded programme offering greater value for families
Get ready for one of the biggest food weekends of the year as Ludlow Food Festival returns to the spectacular setting of Ludlow Castle from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September 2026.
The UK’s original food festival is back with three packed days celebrating great food, drink, local producers and some of the biggest names in the culinary world. Across the historic castle, visitors can enjoy live cooking demonstrations, fire cooking, tastings, workshops, talks, entertainment and plenty of opportunities to discover something delicious.
One of this year’s biggest attractions is the brand-new Food Theatre, bringing an exciting line-up of chefs and food personalities to the heart of the festival. Michelin-starred seafood chef Nathan Outlaw will be sharing his expertise on fish and sustainable seafood, while food writer and broadcaster Mallika Basu brings her bold Indian flavours and ideas around the food we eat.
There’s also plenty of fun and inspiration from George Egg, the Snack Hacker and self-confessed anarchist cook, whose unconventional approach to food promises plenty of laughs as well as some seriously inventive recipes. Other highlights include Radhika Howarth, Madeeha Qureshi, Jad Youssef, Eva Humphries, Sam Cooper and Anna Ansari, with demonstrations covering everything from global flavours and fermentation to whole-food cooking.
For those who love cooking over flames, the Fire Stage hosted by DJ BBQ in the castle’s Inner Bailey is a must-see. Kadai fire bowls create a spectacular backdrop as chefs cook over live fire, with Nathan Outlaw, Jeremy Pang, James Whetlor, Julian Brown, Marcus Bean, Adam Purnell and others taking to the stage. There are also hands-on fire cooking and butchery workshops for visitors who want to learn new skills themselves.
Families are well catered for too, with the Little Foodies Zone offering children’s cookery sessions, creative activities, gymnastics and dance. It’s designed to give younger visitors plenty to do while introducing them to the fun of food and cooking.
Visitors can explore independent food and drink producers from across the Marches, enjoy the Slow Food Garden, listen to live music at the Sound Bites Stage and take part in the Ludlow Pub Trail.
