The Courtyard is set to be ‘amplified’ over the summer with the launch of a brand-new large-scale live performance venue – The Amp. Located on-site at The Courtyard in a Big Top structure, The Amp will seat around 1,400 people, making it Herefordshire’s largest live performance space.
Kim Wilde is one of Britain’s most successful pop icons, known for a career spanning more than four decades. Born in Chiswick, Middlesex, the daughter of rock ’n’ roll star Marty Wilde, she signed to RAK Records in 1980 after studying at St Albans College of Art & Design.
Her breakthrough came in 1981 with the smash-hit “Kids in America”, which reached No. 2 in the UK and became a worldwide success. The hit launched her self-titled debut album and was followed by popular singles including “Chequered Love”, “Cambodia” and “View from a Bridge.”
After signing with MCA Records, Kim enjoyed even greater international success with “You Keep Me Hangin’ On”, which topped the U.S. charts and became a major hit across the UK, Europe and Australia. Her acclaimed album “Close” cemented her status as a global star, leading to high-profile tours supporting Michael Jackson on his Bad World Tour and David Bowie on his European tour.
A celebrated singer-songwriter, author and television personality, Kim has continued to record and perform throughout her career. Following the 2000s ’80s revival tour circuit, she returned with a string of successful albums including Never Say Never, Come Out and Play, Snapshots and Wilde Winter Songbook.
